About Our Lessons
Sarah Fire's Schoolhouse of Rock offers one-on-one music instruction. Although group lessons can be arranged our teachers generally prefer to be able to give their students undivided attention. We tailor our lessons specifically to the unique needs of our students. If you are looking to learn classical piano so you can play Fur Elise at the next family gathering or Pachabel's Canon for your neice's wedding we've got you covered...
...or if you want to learn to scream better in your hardcore death metal band while you learn to play drums with double bass you'll be screaming and stomping in no time without hurting your voice or breaking your drums...
...or if you have a child for whom you've purchased an instrument and you want her/him to really get serious and learn how to play, we are the perfect solution. Perhaps you sing in a choir but want to experiment more with your voice in a comfortable environment so you can solo more often? Yup, we do that. If you want to learn how to use the recording software you already have on your computer we can tutor you and in one session you'll be your own producer and engineer.

Unfortunately, it's quite easy to waste your time with the wrong teacher in the wrong environment. Just because someone plays lead guitar in a metal band does not mean that they are a good teacher. Children have huge potential when it comes to learning to read music and playing an instrument. However, children tend to relate to younger teachers and often the result of pairing a 7 year old with a 70 year old is a lot of dust accumulation on the electric piano you just bought and a very disinterested 7 year old. Don't ever underestimate the destructive power of boredom.
